ON TO THE TIP OF THE WEEK....
MIXING PRINTS
Print Mixing is an art form that, when done the right way, can create a unique and sophisticated 'Fit. Many people have attempted mixing patterns, but only a few have succeeded with a look that did not seem like they just threw something together and said it was their style; it was mixed well and strategically styled. When it comes to mixing prints, you have to be very careful with your choices and even more confident to be able to pull off the look. When we put looks together that mix patterns, many people's response would be, "I never thought to put that together, but it looks good!" Since we have been able to get this reaction we must be doing something right. So to help you style a mixed pattern look we are going to share with you some of the things we keep in mind. Here are a few tips that we have for pulling off an Fashionably Fused 'Fit with Mixed Prints.
Tip#1
SPLIT IT UP!!.
One way to successfully pull off mixing prints is to spread it out throughout your 'fit. For example, if you have a funky print top, wear a neutral bottom, and then mix another pattern in with your shoes.

Tip#2
COLOR-SCHEME IT!
So you can choose a set of colors that you want to wear and choose different prints to mix up...For example, black and white...You can mix black & white stripes with black & white houndstooth. To break it up, add a pop of color.

Tip#3-
PICK A COLOR, ANY COLOR!!..
Choose a color in one print to match up with another print that has a more simple pattern.
For example, take a floral print, chose one color our of that print. Find a piece with a simpler print, like stripes, where that color is the most bold.

The Guy's Version...
Guys, try a patterned button up or blazer and mix in a funky printed sock. This will split up the patterns that you are putting together. Here is a great example of this from The X-Stylez:An All Men's Fashion Guide blog for men's fashion... (click on the picture to visit the site)
Guys, try mixing a graphic sweater/t-shirt and layer it with a plaid/check button up, pulling from the colors of the graphic shirt. Then pair it with a colored chino or jean. Another BOLD way to pull this off is pairing your graphic tee or sweat shirt...This is a simple mix of prints!!

Guys, another simple print mix; you can mix a striped (or other pattern) dress shirt, and a tie or scarf of a different print. Add a pair of jeans or Khakis and a solid blazer to neutralize the look and you are successful...
